This is a lovely little read! If you are familiar with The Blue Zones and recent research on longevity much of this is talked about here. What I loved the most was learning about new-to-me therapy orientations.

Logotherapy – developed by Viktor Frankl
I know about Viktor Frankl, though I have been remiss in not reading his work yet, but had not heard the term Logotherapy.
Morita Therapy – developed by Shōma Morita
Shōma Morita was a Japanese psychologist who was a contemporary of Sigmund Freud. Morita Therapy is strongly influenced by Zen Buddhism. I have not heard of him at all, and was very excited to hear about a therapy developed away from the Western world. Have any therapists heard of this therapy or psychologist?
There were also quotes from the Japanese centenarians and supercentenarians (people over 110 years of age).
I always think about food deserts and food insecurity when the topic of healthy food comes into wellness books. Taking the topic of Blue Zone diets and trying to expand it to others means we come up against systems that affect many people’s access to food and especially nutritious foods.
